There are a multitude of sports and outdoor recreation activities in Golspie, particularly for a small picturesque village in the Highlands.

Bowling
Golspie Bowling Club was founded in 1921 and is located within District 1 of Bowls Scotland. It is located on Golspie Main Street adjacent to the Tennis Courts and the swimming pool. The club has a new pavilion which was opened in July 2000, with modern facilities available for members and visitors (click on image). More information.
Cycling
There are great biking opportunities in the area, including cycling down to Littleferry and the Loch Fleet Nature Reserve, or the extensive Highland Wildcat mountain bike trails above the village. Sam’s Bike Shed is a locally based bicycle repair business and bicycle hire is available with delivery and collection included. Contact Sam directly for more information on 07887673688.
For those who like to ride in the company of others Pedal Pursuits provide regular Led Bike Rides.

Exercise Park
Just off Main Street, by the Golspie beach car park, there is an outside exercise park. Perfect for some exercise with sea views.
In 2017, Golspie Community Council received £7,000 from the Kilbraur Wind Farm Community Benefit Fund to buy three double outdoor gym units from Fresh-Air Fitness, installed by Waverley Engineering. The equipment suits all ages – feel free to try it out. (click on image)
Football and Multi-Use Games Area (MUGA)
There are two multi-use games areas (including basketball nets) , a multi-use pitch, and a large grass field with football goals and rugby posts located towards the north west side of the village (near the Ross Street play park).
The multi-use pitch was funded by a £160,000 grant from SSE’s Gordonbush Wind Farm Community Fund and around £90,000 from the Legacy 2014 Active Places Fund, managed by Sport Scotland. The 60m x 40m pitch can cater for five-a-side and seven-a-side matches and is free to use by local schools. It can be booked via Highlife Highland at the Golspie Swimming Pool on 01408 633437.

Play Parks
Golspie hosts two large play parks, which have been renovated by the Go Golspie Development Trust in 2022 and 2025.
Ross Street play park on the north west side of the village has a fantastic array of equipment which swing, spin and slide! There are also three wheelchair accessible items in it, including the only wheelchair accessible jeep from the supplier in the whole of Scotland.
The King George V play park is on the south side of the main road (A9) as you approach the village from the south. It is easily accessible on foot from the village centre and has plenty of items to climb, slide down and explore. There are also lots of picnic benches to take a break. (click on photo)
Swimming pool and sauna/steam room
