Loch Fleet Nature Reserve
Loch Fleet is a coastal national nature reserve near Golspie, featuring a diverse landscape of tidal basins, sand dunes, pinewoods, and saltmarshes. It offers excellent opportunities for wildlife watching, including seals basking on sandbanks, osprey fishing, and rare pinewood plants. Visitors can enjoy peaceful trails, birdwatching hides, and the changing moods of the reserve throughout the year.
Ben Bhraggie
Ben Bhraggie offers a popular hill walk just outside Golspie, best known for the iconic “Mannie” statue of the first Duke of Sutherland. The trail provides panoramic views over Golspie, the coast, and the Highlands and is a rewarding hike blending local history with spectacular scenery.


Big Burn Gorge
Big Burn Gorge is a scenic natural ravine, featuring waterfalls, woodland, and rocky terrain. It offers a tranquil setting for walking and nature exploration, with rugged paths following the burn through a peaceful Highland glen.
Dunrobin Woods
Dunrobin Woods stretch from Golspie towards Dunrobin Castle and comprises beautiful pine and mixed woodland with walking trails that invite visitors to explore the tranquil forest environment. The woods are rich in wildlife and provide scenic coastal views. From January to March the woodland floor is covered with snowdrops, and in May with bluebells. (click on photo)
