Community Minibus

Available for Multi-day Group Hire

As a result of local community consultation, Go Golspie Development Trust recognised the need for affordable transport to be available to groups and individuals. To that end we fundraised and purchased a 16-seater minibus that is available for hire to community groups in the area.

Go Golspie Development Trust is delighted to announce that they are now the proud owners of a nice shiny new minibus.  We would like to thank our funders – Highland Community Regeneration Funding and Co-op Community Fund.  We have also been fortunate enough to have received an anonymous donation for the purpose of buying the private registration number – KW10 BUS – and we would like to thank them very much for this kind gesture. The minibus is driven by our bank of fantastic volunteer drivers who provide a great service for us and without them we would not be able to provide such a valuable service to the community. First hire by the Sutherland Caledonian Pipe Band and the first Midas training session to Transport For Tongue.

 

The minibus is available on a per mileage basis which at its current price of £1.00 per mile is affordable and covers the running costs. All minibus journeys are completed by volunteer drivers.

We have had our community minibus for over 6 years and it has completed well over 40,000 miles during this time.  It is used by a range of community groups including local schools, village hubs, other charitable groups, local pipe bands and a number of private parties.

 

We manage the local Lunch Club who are regular users of the minibus.

 

We also offer tours for elderly residents where we take them for a drive in the minibus, lunch and some shopping.

HOW TO REQUEST A BOOKING – please read before completing the Booking Form

  1. Click in the PICK UP date/time space and a calendar will appear showing dates on the left and times on the right
  2. Choose the date by clicking on it. You can use the arrow to move to a different month.
  3. Scroll through the list of times on the right and click on the one you want.
  4. Click in the BRING BACK date/time and repeat steps 2 and 3
