Go Golspie was set up in 2015/16 to stimulate economic growth and social activities in the area thus making Golspie a more attractive place to live and work
Go Golspie Board
Go Golspie has a board of 9 trustees and one advisor all from the local area and a membership of 194 people all from the KW10 area. Trustees are elected at the AGM which is normally held in June. Meetings take place regularly and we intend to establish sub groups for different areas of our community work. Current trustees are as follows:

Valerie Gale
Chairperson
Valerie Gale current works with the Sutherland Care Forum (a befriending service) as a development officer, she previously worked in the third sector as the Chief Executive of a children’s charity based in Highland. She is a member of the Golspie Rowing Club and operates the Go Golspie Twitter account.

Amanda Macdonald
Committee member
Amanda has recently joined the Go Golspie board but prior to this was involved in the review of the local YMCA building. She runs her own soap business using essential oils, Her interests are reading, soap making, and light gardening.
She is also involved in an animal rescue group, which helps to rehome animals who are needing loving homes. they are mainly from Eastern Europe, but they have rehomed animals from the UK .

Dona Bruce

Dona runs her own Beauty Salon in the village and her business experience is a valuable addition to the board

Richard Gale
Treasurer
Richard has a background in Management, having worked in customer services across the UK and Ireland, before returning to work in Golspie where he was the Manager of the Citizens Advice Bureaux for the last 10 years. In May 2017 he was elected as one of the 3 Highland councillors representing Ward 4 and decided to stay on the Go Golspie board as he has a keen interest in inward investment opportunities and championing local issues that affect residents.

Fergus Morrison
Advisor
Fergus is an experienced project manager having set up and run a charitable recycling organisation employing a diverse workforce until his retirement. He brings a wealth of experience to the board and has a keen eye for detail which is invaluable

Valerie Mackay
Valerie runs her own hairdressing business and is a local employer in the village, she also manages and oversees her own self catering business in the area and has joined the committee within the last year

Stacey Fraser
Committee Member
Stacey is an active member of the community and is a member of the Golspie Primary School PTA. She also leads the Go Golspie playpark sub-committee.

Iain Sutherland
Secretary
Iain recently retired from his role as a sergeant with Police Scotland, he is currently an office bearer in the Golspie Rowing Club, has a keen interest in all things community, he has a particular interest in music and is often out and about playing at local venues. He is also on the pipe band committee.

Tracey Campbell
Committee member
Tracey is a well-known face in the village and a real community focussed resident, she spends long hours
volunteering, running the local youth clubs and Beavers, she is a member of the Gala Week committee organising the week-long summer programme, and is a champion for elderly people and dementia sufferers. She works in Seaforth House the local residential care home and also works part time as a Footcare co-ordinator with
Sutherland Care Forum supporting a team of volunteers who offer advice and support to people.

Claire Gordon
Committee member
Claire is an active member of the Rogart PTA; she has been on the Go Golspie board since its inception and has offered key advice on transport and maintenance issues as her husband operates a local company called Waverley Engineering. She is also a member of a number of local groups.
