Lunch Club

The Golspie lunch club is held fortnightly where elderly local residents can meet up for a chat and have a nice lunch together. Previously this was held within the Community Centre however had to stop as a result of the Coronavirus Pandemic and Lockdown.  During lockdown the original 18 participants received hot meals on a weekly basis which were provided by the Trawler Restaurant, which became so popular that at its peak, an average of 55 residents received a hot meal every Friday, this was made possible with funding from Age Scotland.

As lockdown has eased, the lunch club has formed once again where local elderly residents meet on a fortnightly basis at The Stags Head Hotel, where they are provided with excellent food.  Those attending can travel to and from the venue in the Go Golspie Development Trust minibus.  As of early November 2021, 18 people are attending but we expect numbers will increase as word of this popular event gets out.
